Draw inspiration from the beauty of the river and surrounding trails as we combine outdoor exploration with creative expression. We’ll take guided walks along the river to observe and sketch flowing water, textured rocks, and towering trees, then bring those ideas to life through drawing and painting right onsite at the Mill.

Intro to Leather working: Belt making class

Saturday, July 18 • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

In this class, each student will create a handcrafted leather belt from start to finish. Prior to registration, students will choose their leather and buckle style to make a unique belt that reflects their personal style.

By the end of the class, each student will leave with a durable, custom-made leather belt and a solid introduction to fundamental leatherworking techniques. Suitable for ages 14 and up.

Advanced Bookbinding - Secret Belgian Binding

Saturday, July 18 • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Ready to master your next bookbinding project? In this advanced bookbinding workshop, students will uncover the Secret Belgian binding to create a spine-tingling journal. Refresh your memory on previous bookbinding techniques such as preparing stylish covers and sewing your book by hand. By the end of this two-day workshop, students will create a durable journal with a beautifully threaded case. Leave class with your own elegant, unique, and ready-to-use hand-bound journal!

Best for students with previous bookbinding experience and students ages 15+!

This class meets on July 18 and 19, 10-2PM.

It’s A Date Try-It Pottery with Teresa Stecher

***PRICE IS PER COUPLE*** Come with your significant other/first date/best friend/family member...whomever! We'll have a crash course in making pottery on the wheel. Each pair will use one wheel and have the opportunity to make 3 to 4 pieces total. Choose your glaze colors - we take care of the rest. We'll provide everything you need to create. Beginner Welding: Dragonfly

Sunday, July 19 • 12:15 PM – 3:15 PM

Learn the basics of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding in this make-and-take class where you'll fabricate a dragonfly out of common kitchen utensils. Topics include welding safety, equipment, processes, technique, and basic metallurgical properties. No experience necessary, and suitable for anyone age 12 and older. Natural fiber clothing (cotton, etc.) and close toed shoes (preferably leather) required. Course is held outdoors and all equipment / materials are provided.

Beginner Fluid Art

Join local abstract artist, Tara Gillespie, for an introduction to fluid art! During this fun time together we will be covering several pouring techniques, I will be sharing my paint recipes, and you will create two, different fluid art pieces – a 12×12” piece and a 6×6” piece. You'll be amazed by what you create.

A frequent touring partner of the late John Renbourn, He has also shared stages with Tommy Emmanuel, and his work has drawn admiration from a wide array of admirers including John Williams, and even Madonna, who once included him in her backing band.

Wayne Hancock

Since his stunning debut, Thunderstorms and Neon Signs in 1995, Wayne “The Train” Hancock has been the undisputed king of Juke Joint Swing–that alchemist’s dream of honky-tonk, western swing, blues, Texas rockabilly and big band.

Always an anomaly among his country music peers, Wayne’s uncompromising interpretation of the music he loves is in fact what defines him: steeped in tradition but never “retro”, bare bones but bone shaking, hardcore but with a swing. Like the comfortable crackle of a Wurlitzer 45 jukebox, Wayne is the embodiment of genuine, house rocking, hillbilly boogie.

Little known fact: Wayne is the only Bloodshot artist to have had their CD taken aboard a space shuttle flight.
