WEEK AT A GLANCE

In this two-part class, participants will make their own cutting boards to use in their homes. Students will learn about different species of woods to use for food safe projects, how to join pieces of wood together, and different oils for sealing them. We encourage you to take Woodworking 101 before signing up for this class to become comfortable with the tools and machinery, though it is not a requirement. This class meets on Tuesday, 8/18 and Thursday, 8/20 at 6pm.

Intro to Stained Glass Mosaics: Create Your Own Mosaic House

Friday, August 21 • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Discover the art of mosaic in this beginner-friendly workshop using recycled stained glass, mirrors, beads, and other unique materials. You’ll design and create your own mosaic house while learning the basics of composition, color mixing, and material placement. Guidance will be provided to help you develop a design that feels both balanced and personal.

Your piece will need to dry, and we’ll grout the work later in the week. You’re welcome to return to attend the hands-on grouting demo or simply pick up your finished mosaic later on.

Grouting Date: Saturday, August 22 from 1pm-2pm. If you are unable to attend, you may pick up your finished work at the front desk during our open hours: Wed-Sun 12pm-6pm.

All tools and materials are included—just bring your creativity! Ages 12+ (minors must be accompanied by an adult)

Make Your Own Tie Dye Football Tee with Boring Tie Dye

Friday, August 21 • 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

During this workshop, Matt will lead you through the basics of a football fold to make your favorite t-shirt that represents your favorite team! Then we will head to the dye station where you’ll get to use professional dyes to create a one-of-a-kind wearable piece of art. You’ll take your tie dye t-shirt home with you that you’ll be able to wear and enjoy for years after! All ages welcome, if registering a child, an adult/guardian must be present to help (but you are not required to purchase another ticket as the helper).

2-Day Plein Air Painting Workshop with Nancy Fine (August)

Saturday, August 22 • 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Join us for a wonderful weekend of outdoor (plein air) painting with artist, Nancy Fine! Nancy is a local professional plein air painter who exhibits her work both regionally and nationally. Learn more about Nancy below. This two-day event will be held across the street from Manor Mill in an adjacent field with a wooded area and a stream. All skill levels welcome, beginner through advanced, but participants must bring all their own supplies. Ages 12+.

*This class meets Saturday & Sunday, August 22-23, from 11am to 3pm each day.

Electrical Essentials

Sunday, August 23 • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Electrical Essentials is a practical, beginner-friendly class designed to help homeowners understand and safely handle common electrical tasks around the house. You’ll learn how your electrical system works, including circuit breakers, outlets, and switches, as well as how to safely test circuits and replace basic fixtures. With a strong focus on safety and real-world application, this course builds confidence and knowledge so you can tackle minor electrical projects, troubleshoot issues, and know when it’s time to call a professional.

Beginner Welding: Bird

Sunday, August 23 • 12:15 PM – 3:15 PM

Learn the basics of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding in this make-and-take class where you'll make a bird out of common kitchen utensils. Topics include welding safety, equipment, processes, technique, and basic metallurgical properties. No experience necessary, and suitable for anyone age 12 and older. Natural fiber clothing (cotton, etc.) and close toed shoes (preferably leather) required. Course is held outdoors and all equipment and materials are provided.

Beginner Welding: Dragonfly

Sunday, August 23 • 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Topics include welding safety, equipment, processes, technique, and basic metallurgical properties. No experience necessary, and suitable for anyone age 12 and older. Course is held outdoors and all equipment / materials are provided. *The class takes place in an outdoor setting that is covered, and is subject to Maryland's seasonal weather conditions. Please take these factors into account when signing up for this workshop during the winter and summer seasons, as our cancellation policy is firm. All necessary equipment and materials will be supplied.

Georgia Beatty

Georgia Beatty is a musician and folk artist bewitched by cycle, lineage and the alchemical process of healing. She performs on cello, fiddle, hardanger fiddle and voice, offering her own songs as well as the traditional music of Norway, often intertwined with visionary artwork and storytelling. Her sound creates an expansive world; one with luminous harmonies and mercurial rhythms that are both intimate and far-reaching. Her most recent project, The Book of Stars, brings together music, story and the analogue projector technology known as a ‘magic lantern’ to tell the tale of the ancient Light Queen who uses ancestral songs to heal the world of oppressive powers.

David McKindley Ward

David McKinley Ward is a musician and songwriter known for bending and warping traditional music with his own original, contemporary storytelling.

After nearly a decade of playing all around the country in the folk/traditional music scene, David is set to release his forthcoming solo album, scheduled for arrival later in 2026. The project features a collection of original material, and some of his unique takes on a few of his favorite traditional songs.

Preston Lydotes and Clara Kay with Coby Siegel

Join Preston Lydotes and Clara Kay for a night of intimate folk/rock storytelling, featuring local Baltimore act Coby Siegel. The show is part of Lydotes' and Kay's Outrun Summer tour, their debut headline run across the East Coast.

Preston Lydotes: Preston Lydotes is a Boston-born indie-rock troubadour. His latest EP "Stranger At Best", hailed by The Other Side Reviews as “a stunning exercise in emotional alchemy,” has surpassed 275,000 streams on Spotify alone. He is the recipient of the Portsmouth Music Hall Emerging Artist Award and a three-time New England Music Award nominee. Now based in Nashville, Lydotes is finishing his debut album—further establishing himself as a rising voice in modern indie rock & roll.

Clara Kay: After years of fronting rock bands and secretly writing folk songs in her bedroom, Clara Kay has found her voice in the tension between the two. Her music lives in the space where raw feeling meets sharp storytelling. She's consistently been releasing singles since early 2025, including "On Purpose", "Postcard Town", "Long Con", and "Afterlife".

Coby Siegel: Coby Siegel is a Baltimore based indie folk-rock singer and songwriter. As an artist, Coby has performed up and down the east coast from Washington DC to Boston MA, and has quickly built a following since his debut in 2022. His recent EP, "In The Meantime", is the culmination of a lot of hard work and collaboration with various artists in Baltimore. Coby remains committed to sharing his evolving sound and vision with the world, one performance at a time.
