Growing a Dried Flower Garden with Spore and Seed

Wednesday, April 29 • 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Participants will learn all the tricks and tips to successfully grow and dry flowers from their garden. This class will focus on variety selection, harvesting times and conditions, drying techniques, storage and uses. Gardening knowledge is helpful but not required. All participants will go home with plant starts for their garden, a handout and access to the presentation.

Wiggle and dance with your little one in this music and movement class. Using interactive songs, dramatic play, and sensory props, you and your child will explore foundational concepts of dance and movement together. Intermediate Woodturning with Jim Prinkey: Round box with lid

Saturday, May 2 • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

This is an intermediate level class for those who have learned how to create their own handle, candlestick, or bud vase. Jim Prinkey will be teaching the intricacies of how to turn a round box with a lid! You will be given the opportunity to use the skills you've learned in beginners classes but with a little more depth in using a lathe.

Woodworking 101 with Tom Parmelee

Sunday, May 3 • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

In this class you will learn the ins and outs of a modern woodworking shop. What tools do what and how to use them. Safety being key to the long term enjoyment of any woodworking endeavors will be the focus for all tools used. By the end of the class you should have all the knowledge needed to purchase and take a raw piece of lumber and turn it into whatever your imagination can come up with. You will leave this class with your very own finished item be it a serving tray or your very own custom clipboard!

Silhouette Cameo Collage with Sky Queen Studio

Join Baltimore-based artist Ali Solonche aka Sky Queen Studio to design and craft a silhouette cameo collage. For this contemporary spin on the traditional silhouette cameo, you will choose your own subject to collage, whether that's yourself, a child- human or furbaby, a friend, etc. Using upcycled magazines and a little bit of sparkle, you’ll leave with a unique, framed 8×10 artwork that is ready-to-display and will cherished for years to come.

Nigel Wearne saunters after dark in the music of the night, blending blues, jazz and Americana-noir. Hailing from Gunditjmara country in the deep south of Australia, he’s a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influences such as Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones.Nigel has played some of the world’s most prestigious music festivals, including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, MerleFest, Philadelphia Folk Festival, 30A Songwriters Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion and the Cambridge Folk Festival (UK). His sophomore album, ‘Black Crow’ garnered wide critical acclaim including a 4-STAR review in Rolling Stone, a nomination for Best Country Album at the Music Victoria Awards and it debuted at #1 on Australia’s AMRAP Charts.

Hiroya Tsukamoto in Concert and Conversation

Tsukamoto brings a blend of masterful fingerstyle guitar and evocative storytelling that transcends cultural barriers. His artistry, honed at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, has been celebrated on renowned stages like the Blue Note in NYC and the United Nations, and lauded for its “delicate, fluid, and beautifully detailed” style by Acoustic Guitar magazine. Hiroya Tsukamoto is a Japanese-born fingerstyle guitarist who moved to the United States in 2000 to attend the Berklee College of Music. Needless to say, he’s not only a dizzyingly agile fingerpicker, but a soulful and transcendent performer, with compositions that combine instrumental guitar work with lyrical performance and spoken stories from his life. Tsukamoto has been recognized for his talents on stages such as at Blue Note in New York City, NHK-Television (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), International Storytelling Center and United Nations, and by scoring second place at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship both in 2018 and 2022.
