The Baltimore Rising Jazz Artist Series at Manor Mill shines a spotlight on the next generation of jazz talent in the Baltimore region. Each performance features an emerging artist exploring the boundaries of jazz in our intimate Loft listening room.
Connect with jazz at its most exciting stage! There's a tangible new energy to jazz in Baltimore, and this series offers a curated look into some of the best young performers currently making waves. Starting this October, the Manor Mill will offer a blend of jazz approaches--everything from post-bop, Afro-Cuban and Flamingo on through to Gypsy and Fusion; with influences ranging from Eastern European to Egyptian! Every concert is sure to impress and inspire.
The "Jazz Rising Artists Series" was inspired by a performance at Manor Mill by Baltimore trumpet player, Brandon Woody. His performance left us breathless, so we went on to search out the young talent taking hold in Baltimore. This series offers a personal, experiential immersion into that energy. It's an energy that'll continue to define Baltimore as a "Jazz city." Note, after Brandon's performance with us in 2024, he went on to be picked up by Blue Note and gain international recognition.
