Having grown up in a creative environment, and instilled with a love of the outdoors and nature, Annette now expresses her creativity through textile arts. Annette’s exploration of textile arts began in 2018 when she took a class in natural dyes at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina. Since then, Annette has studied both eco-printing and thread-painting, often combining the two processes. Annette takes inspiration from travelling and often uses her own photos in her work. She also makes use of the bounty of plants available in Maryland in her eco-printed designs.

I have always been a “maker”. I am retired from a career in graphic arts where I used a computer every day. I am now free to get back to creating with my hands.
I discovered needle felting the winter of 2018 after my daughter gave me a kit as a gift—and I have been going strong ever since. I started very small, and began making likenesses of dogs that I know, and have moved to making animals of all kinds.
Building a sculpture in wool is a slow, but very satisfying process. I am happy to share my work online and in a few craft shows per year.
When I look for subjects to paint, I am drawn to and seek out the quality of light at dawn, dusk, or a misty morning that illuminates and transforms ordinary things like rocks or buildings, turning them into something extraordinary. I also am captivated by bursts of color in the landscape that often seem to present themselves, like a gift, and try to incorporate that same element of surprise in my painting. The energy and emotion I feel when painting is expressed through the layering of colors and my mark-making.

Ozlem is a Maryland-based artist whose journey into the world of fine art is anything but conventional. Unlike most artists, her background is rooted in technology rather than liberal arts. After earning a B.S. in Business Administration, Ozlem pursued an M.S. in Information Technology from Johns Hopkins University. Earlier in her career, she found a creative outlet in graphic design, web design, and development. Ozlem grew up in Istanbul, Türkiye, a city full of history, culture, and art that fostered her love for the arts at a young age. Her interest in art began in high school, where she took drawing classes. Over the years, she experimented with watercolor, acrylics, and water-soluble oils. However, it wasn’t until 2022 that she began painting with traditional oils, marking a significant turning point in her artistic journey. Ozlem is currently studying traditional oil painting techniques under the mentorship of Matt Zoll at the Zoll Studio School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Her dedication to the arts has led her to exhibit her work in a variety of venues, including juried exhibitions. Her paintings have been displayed at the Manor Mill Gallery in Maryland, the Artists' Gallery of Ellicott City, and The Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, D.C.'s International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature—where she was recently awarded Second Place in the Still Life Category. She has also exhibited at the International Miniature Art Show at the Seaside Art Gallery in North Carolina and the HoCo Open 2024 in Ellicott City, Maryland, where she received an Honorable Mention. Ozlem is also an associate member of TAG/The Artists Gallery of Frederick. Ozlem specializes in still life, drawing inspiration from everyday objects and capturing the beauty of fruits, flowers, and animals. She also enjoys painting landscapes, adding diversity to her artwork portfolio. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the simple, yet profound beauty found in the world around us.
Wendy Roberts is a fiber artist who explores expression through texture, pattern, color and form inspired by nature and human sentiment.
Her current focus is integrating weaving and embroidery techniques using wool, cotton and linen with vintage kitchen tools. Each piece expresses how these tools have unfinished purpose, perceiving them from an artistic perspective.
Most recently her work has been shown at David Lusk Gallery, Nashville and Memphis, TN, 57W57ARTS, NYC, The Rose Project, NYC and Joshua Tree National Park Art Juried Exhibition. Residencies include Atelier Artist in Residence, Assé-le-Boisne, France and A-Z West Residency Program, Joshua Tree, CA.
Wendy has a BFA from Maryland Institute, College of Art and maintains a fiber studio in Harford County, Maryland.

I’m a full time watercolor artist from Frederick MD. I love painting detailed botanicals, wide open sky sceneries and whimsical imagery. My work is highly inspired by nature and my late cat Harper.
